Luxury French fashion house Louis Vuitton has put its mark on the World Cup ... specifically on the World Cup trophy’s carrying case.

All over it.

The company unveiled the leather-bound case it produced to carry the trophy to South Africa for the tournament, which begins June 11.

The case, which was ordered by FIFA in March and presented by company officials and supermodel Naomi Campbell on Tuesday, is covered with logos -- only not the World Cup logo or soccer balls or anything related to the tournament (thanks to ‘chris’ at worldcupblog.org for the observation). At least none that I can see.

Instead the case is decorated with the same Louis Vuitton logo seen on many of the company’s other items. Maybe the idea was to blend in with many of the other traveling bags on their way to South Africa this month.

Or, more likely, it’s all about fashion, which is something I know little about ... so let me know what you think.
