Police investigating golfer Erica Blasberg’s death search for prescription medications

Warrant documents show police searched a doctor’s house and office looking for prescription medication during the investigation into the death of LPGA golfer Erica Blasberg, according to Associated Press.

The documents are said to show police were looking for alprazolam, an anti-anxiety medication also known as Xanax, plus samples of Dr. Thomas Hess’ handwriting.

[Updated at 2:58 p.m.: Henderson police reported confiscating several computers, two video cameras, a cell phone and a global positioning system from Hess’ home, according to an inventory filed after the May 13 searches. Police also seized white plastic trash bags and a computer from Hess’ medical office.]

Hess referred calls about the May 13 searches at his home and business to his lawyer, who declined comment.

Police are still saying very little about their investigation of Blasberg’s mysterious death at her home in Henderson, Nev., last month. The 25-year-old golfer from Corona is said to have had her bags packed for a tournament when she was found by police officers responding to a 911 call from inside the house.

The Clark County coroner says it could be four more weeks before a cause of death is known.
