Call it a long, lost weekend in Pullman, Wash., for the USC baseball team, which is in last place in the Pacific 10 Conference.

There were football jokes being made by the Cougars after winning by scores of 20-7 and 18-4 on Friday and Saturday, such as, ‘Cougs defeat USC by two touchdowns.

On Sunday, USC put up a better fight but still lost, 8-2. USC trailed, 3-2, until Washington State scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth.

USC dropped to 25-31 overall and 5-19 in the Pac-10. To say that Coach Chad Kreuter is on thin ice might be an understatement.
