Bad news for Sparks fans, kinda.

The annual WNBA general manager survey has been released, and the Phoenix Mercury were predicted to win their third title in four years.

Last year, the Sparks were predicted to win the championship by the same survey, and they finished the regular season with a record of 18-16 and were eliminated by the Mercury in the Western Conference finals.

So, in other words, the general managers are not infallible.

The Mercury received 36% of the votes, and the Indiana Fever finished second with 18%.

Mercury guard Diana Taurasi and Sparks forward Candace Parker tied for who’s most likely to earn the most valuable player award, each player earning 27% of the vote.
