Daunte Culpepper appears headed to the UFL

Fabforum Quarterback Daunte Culpepper is on the verge of going from the NFL's Detroit Lions to the UFL's Sacramento Mountain Lions, according to ESPN.

Culpepper and the Mountain Lions are putting the finishing touches on a deal, according to sources familiar with the talks.

Signing with Sacramento will reunite Culpepper with Dennis Green, the Mountain Lions' coach and general manager.

The UFL (United Football League) is an independent professional football league that began play in October. The league's defending champions are the Las Vegas Locomotives, who defeated the Florida Tuskers, 20-17.
