HTC-Columbia, home team of the world’s best cycling sprinter, Mark Cavendish and owned by Riverside’s Bob Stapleton, is auctioning off in conjunction with Auction Cause, a package that will allow the winner to ride in the team car behind one of HTC-Columbia’s racers during the Amgen Tour of California team time trial through downtown Los Angeles May 22. The stage is expected to play a big part in determining the winner of the race which runs May 16-23.

The auction winner will also get a 2009 Team Edition Scott Addict bike with race-quality Shimano components and two tickets to the movie premiere of ‘Chasing Legends,’ a chronicling of HTC-Columbia’s efforts during the 2009 Tour de France (Cavendish won six stages). The movie is premiering Friday in Sacramento. The winner will also have the chance to meet HTC-Columbia riders after the movie. If the winner can’t make it to Sacramento, he would go to another screening during the Tour of California.
