Want MLB All-Star Game tickets? Register for lottery -- and if you're a winner, prepare to pony up

The general public can apply for All-Star Game tickets through a lottery, Major League Baseball announced Tuesday. The Angels host the game on July 13.

Fans can register for the lottery starting Wednesday on the Angels' website, angelsbaseball.com, or on the MLB website, mlb.com. Registration concludes May 21, with one entry per person and winners scheduled to be notified on or about May 28.

Winners will be offered the opportunity to buy two packages to All-Star week events and will not be allowed to buy tickets only for the All-Star Game itself. The package includes a ticket to the July 13 All-Star game, the July 12 home run derby and the July 11 celebrity softball game and Futures Game for top prospects, as well as two tickets for the fan festival at the Anaheim Convention Center.

The prices for the packages range from $440 to $950.

Individual tickets will be sold for the fan festival ($30) and the celebrity softball game and Futures Game ($50 to $200).
