Rutgers University officials will file tampering charges against USC regarding the potential transfer of the Rutgers’ star guard Mike Rosario, according to a report.

While the report fails to mention how USC was involved, if at all, in tampering with Rosario, it does cite anonymous sources close to Rutgers stating that Rosario, who has led the Scarlet Knights in scoring the last two seasons, asked for a release last week and that Rutgers would likely prevent him from transferring to USC.

Rosario has ties at USC, as his St. Anthony High School teammate Jio Fontan transferred to USC from Fordham this past winter.

USC Coach Kevin O’Neill could not immediately be reached for comment.
