NHL Versus ratings go up
According to the sports network Versus, the first night of NHL playoff action Wednesday that featured a triple header, averaged 478,000 viewers. It was the most-watched postseason opening night since 2004. The average viewership number was 22% higher than last year. These numbers were also gained despite the network being blacked out in local markets.
For those of you with Versus, the Ottawa at Pittsburgh Game 2 is on today at 4 p.m. with Nashville at Chicago at 6:30 p.m. (joined in progress); Detroit at Phoenix at 8 p.m. (joined in progress); and Colorado at San Jose at 9:30 p.m. (joined in progress).
Saturday Versus has Montreal at Washington at 4 p.m. and Los Angeles at Vancouver at 7 p.m. (blacked out in Los Angeles ).
Also Thursday, on FS West, the Kings had a 1.5 household rating or 128,000 average viewers while the Los Angeles Dodgers on Prime Ticket had a 1.9 household rating or 145,000 viewers.
