NCAA final: Butler hangs with Duke in first half

April 5, 2010 |  8:11 pm

Butler made anything look possible through much of the first half of its NCAA championship game against Duke.

Butler hung with Duke through much of the first half on Monday night at Lucas Oil Stadium, even taking a two point lead, and entered halftime trailing, 33-32.

Butler started out shooting just 1 of 9 but -- so much like its Final Four victory against Michigan State -- overcame lousy shooting and took a 12-11 lead with 12:27 minutes remaining in the first half. They had started the game trailing 6-1.
