Major League Baseball is again seeking nominations for All-Stars Among Us, the joint effort with People magazine to recognize individuals who are serving their communities in extraordinary ways.

Commissioner Bud Selig called last year’s winners ‘pillars of their community’ and noted that they ‘sacrificed their time and energy to help others.’

Last year, nearly 750,000 votes were cast nationwide to select 30 winners -- one representing each MLB club -- from a pool of 90. To nominate someone, go to mlb.com. Nominations close May 14. Three finalists per club then will be announced and beginning May 31, online voting begins.

Thirty winners will attend the All-Star game July 13 at Angel Stadium.
