Kings’ Jeff Halpern to be out a week

Kings forward Jeff Halpern will be out of the lineup for a week while he recovers from the upper-body injury he suffered Thursday when he was smashed into the boards by Vancouver’s Tanner Glass, Coach Terry Murray said.

The NHL has not suspended Glass--and at this point probably will not impose supplementary discipline against him because the Canucks play at Anaheim tonight and the league would have to act before that game.

We’ll have more soon, including comments from Jonathan Quick about his return to the nets Saturday against the Ducks at Staples Center. --Helene Elliott
