The Clippers on Thursday announced that interim coach, Kim Hughes, would not return.

Hughes took over the team on an interim basis after Mike Dunleavy stepped aside as coach; the Clippers had an 8-25 record under Hughes.

Clippers President Andy Roeser acknowledged Hughes’ contributions, but said that, ‘This season was an overall disappointment and certainly fell short of ... expectations.’

The Clippers finished the season in 12th place in the West, with a 29-53 record and will have another lottery pick in June’s NBA draft. The team said it had begun a search for a new coach.
