Troy Markas, the brother of former Angels broadcaster Rory Markas, who died in early January after a heart attack, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Wednesday night’s game against the Minnesota Twins at Angel Stadium. Terry Smith, Rory’s longtime on-air partner, will catch the pitch.

Rory Markas spent eight seasons calling play-by-play for the Angels on radio and television. He also served as the play-by-play voice for the USC men’s basketball team and as a reporter for Channel 11 in Los Angeles. Rory’s other brother, Gary, and his mother, Billie, also will be at the game.
