The scoreboard video flashed a short from the movie ‘Pulp Fiction.’ It was doctored, sort of, and basically announced that it was time for the Angels’ Rally Monkey to make an appearance, as the team trailed, 3-2, entering the bottom of the ninth inning Friday night against the Dodgers.

And so it was. After two straight hits off the Dodgers’ Justin Miller, the Angels tied the score, 3-3. (Not a good sign for Miller, who before the game was reassigned to triple-A Albuquerque.)

Then, Hainley Statia smacked a ground ball up the middle to shortstop Chin-lunh Hu, who fumbled the ball for an error ... and Peter Bourjos, who reached on a double, crossed home plate to end it.

Angels win, 4-3.
