USC sophomore forward Leonard Washington has been dismissed from the team and is looking to transfer to another school, multiple sources confirmed to The Times Friday.

The sources were not allowed to speak on the record because Washington has not been granted his official release. An announcement from USC is expected soon.

Washington’s dismissal came on March 7 after the team returned from Arizona, where it had lost to the Wildcats in double-overtime, 86-84, the day before, the sources said. A poor attitude was the primary reason he was dismissed, they said.

Washington, who was recruited by former USC coach Tim Floyd, is expected to transfer, though it is unclear which schools he might consider.

Washington missed the first 10 games this season because he was academically ineligible. He averaged 6.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in his final 20 games.
