UCLA women to meet North Carolina State in NCAA first round

UCLA will play North Carolina State in the first round of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. PDT in Minneapolis.

The Bruins (24-8) finished second in the Pacific 10 Conference during the regular season and also in the conference’s postseason tournament.

North Carolina State has a record of 20-13.

Stanford (31-1), the Pac-10’s regular-season and tournament champion, will play Big West Conference tournament champion UC Riverside (17-15) on Saturday at Stanford.

Stanford is the No. 1-seeded team in the Sacramento Regional. UCLA is No. 8, and North Carolina State No. 9.
