The Oakland Athletics has returned Rule 5 pick Bobby Cassevah to the Angels, who paid $25,000 to reacquire the 24-year-old right-hander who had a 3.68 earned run average in 73 relief innings for double-A Arkansas last season. The transaction was reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.

Baseball America ranked Cassevah, who mixes a 92-mph fastball with a sinker, as Oakland’s 26th best prospect. For the Angels to send Cassevah to the minor leagues, they must pass him through waivers, exposing him to a possible claim by another team.
