Former USC linebacker Rey Maualuga pleads guilty to drunk driving

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker and former USC standout Rey Maualuga pleaded guilty to drunk driving in a Kentucky courtroom Tuesday, receiving a suspended jail sentence.

Maualuga, who was arrested after hitting two parked cars and a parking meter in Covington, Ky., on Friday, apologized to teammates and fans. The two female passengers who were with Maualuga have not been charged.

In addition to a seven-day suspended jail sentence, Maualuga was placed on probation for two years and had his driver’s license suspended for 90 days. He also had to pay a $350 fine.
