USC football: Everyone’s mum going into lunch break at NCAA hearing

TEMPE, Ariz . -- Pete Carroll emerged from the first four hours of the USC’s hearing before the NCAA enforcement committee with a grin but no comment other than he ‘was being a good soldier’ and planned to leave this afternoon.

Other members of the USC contingent did not look quite as chipper as Carroll, but no one looked beaten down, either. And several, including running backs coach Todd McNair, declined to comment.

Perhaps everyone was just hungry.

Carroll indicated as much when Lane Kiffin walked by. The former and current Trojans coaches walked off together to have lunch, Carroll telling Kiffin he should buy.
