'Super Six' tourney coming to Rancho Mirage on March 6

The second round of Showtime's "Super Six" super-middleweight boxing tournament will start March 6 at Agua Caliente Casino / Resort / Spa in Rancho Mirage when unbeaten Arthur Abraham (31-0, 25 KOs) fights Andre Dirrell (18-1, 13 KOs).

Abraham knocked out Jermain Taylor in October, leading Taylor to retire from the tourney, while Dirrell lost a close split-decision to Carl Froch in Britain on the same evening. Abraham's knockout victory makes him the points leader over Froch and Andre Ward.

The location of the bout is curious given that the German Abraham won his first tourney bout in Berlin but said it's "my goal to become a star in America." Dirrell, from Flint, Mich., needs an upset to catapult himself back into contention and move into the semifinals.
