Snow freezes Major League Soccer-MLS Players Union talks

Friday was the deadline that Major League Soccer and the MLS Players Union had set to conclude their talks over a new collective bargaining agreement. So much for that idea.

The old agreement expired on Jan. 31, but the two sides agreed to extend their discussions until Friday. Appalling weather on the East Coast this week forced postponement of the talks, and a new deadline of Feb. 25 has been set.

The 2010 MLS season is scheduled to begin on March 25.
