Norm Chow’s decision to remain as offensive coordinator at UCLA, with a contract extension, came as no surprise to those familiar with the history between Chow and new USC coach Lane Kiffin.

Kiffin, who was hired to replace Pete Carroll, reacted to Chow’s decision today.

‘We reached out to Coach Chow and his representation, and the word came back that he is very happy where he is,’ Kiffin said through a school spokesman. ‘The Trojan family will always be grateful to him for his time here.

‘I’m sure he’ll continue to have great success across town.’
