USC football: Jack Del Rio reportedly offered contract to become coach

January 12, 2010 |  7:42 am

Jack Jack Del Rio, the coach of the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, reportedly "left it unclear" whether he would become USC's next coach in the wake of reports that he had been sent a contract by the school.

Del Rio, a former Trojans linebacker, is in Jacksonville, Fla., to meet with Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver.

Del Rio is 58-57 in seven seasons. If the team fires him, he would be owed more than $15 million.

Former Trojans coach Pete Carroll is due to be introduced today as the Seattle Seahawks' new coach.
