USC basketball: Trojans pound Washington, 87-61

Marcus Johnson scored a career-high 22 points to lead USC to an 87-61 victory over Washington tonight at the Galen Center.

It was USC’s highest point total this season. The Trojans’ previous high was 77.

Johnson shot nine of 11 from the field. Five players scored in double figures for the Trojans, who shot 58% (32 of 55) for the game.

USC (12-7 overall, 4-3 in Pacific 10 Conference play) won for the 10th time in its last 14 games.

Washington (12-7, 3-5) lost for the sixth time away from its home court. Huskies stars Quincy Pondexter and Isaiah Thomas struggled all night, scoring a combined 16 points on four-of-20 shooting.

USC now goes on the road to play Oregon State on Thursday.
