UCLA football: Bruins land defensive tackle Sealii Epenesa

Sealii Epenesa, a defensive tackle from Honolulu Iolani High, said he has committed to play at UCLA. The late-blooming Epenesa hasn’t registered very high around internet scouting websites. But at 6 foot 2 and 305 pounds, he has the size to play inside. Besides UCLA, he also visited Oregon State. Colorado, Baylor, Texas Tech and Washington were believed to have strong interest.
Epenesa is the second defensive tackle the Bruins landed this week. Westlake Village Oaks Christian’s Cassius Marsh committed earlier this week.
Both may get a long look during fall training camp. David Carter is UCLA’s only defensive tackle who saw significant playing time last season.
