After a rushed and sloppy start, UCLA found its rhythm -- and sank some shots -- to make it close at Stanford, trailing 34-33 at half.

The question coming into this game: Which UCLA team would show up?

The team that hurries -- and misses -- shots? Or the patient team that found a way to score in an upset victory over California on Wednesday?

The initial answer came in the form of 25% shooting and seven turnovers in the first seven minutes, the Bruins falling behind, 13-5.

Defense was the other half of the equation: Shut down Landry Fields and Jeremy Green and you shut down the Cardinal.

UCLA did well enough against Fields but Green was another matter, starting fast on his way to 17 points for the half.

The Bruins fought back with some hot shooting of their own, Nikola Dragovic hitting a pair of three-pointers and Michael Roll leading the team with 10 points.

Only a running, double-covered three-pointer by Green at the buzzer kept Stanford in the lead.
