Not only is New York Giants wide receiver Steve Smith one of the NFL’s best bargain players, but he’s also a talented self-promoter.

The former USC standout is nominated for an award recognizing the NFL player who outperforms his contract the most. And because Smith is earning only $460,000 this year, his 107 catches for 1,220 yards and seven touchdowns make him a perfect candidate for the honor.

Smith is urging fans to vote for him via Twitter and Facebook. He has promised to give one lucky fan who votes for him a flat-screen television if he wins.

Of course, he does have some competition: San Diego’s Vincent Jackson, Denver’s Elvis Dumervil, Jacksonville’s Mike Sims-Walker and Baltimore’s Ray Rice have been nominated too.
