For the third time this week, Santa Anita has announced that it is canceling racing because of rain and poor track conditions. The Arcadia track won’t hold races on Friday but hopes to resume racing on Saturday and Sunday.

‘We’re told that the heavy rain is supposed to be clear of us by about noon tomorrow,’ Santa Anita President Ron Charles said. ‘The weather outlook for the weekend is favorable and we are optimistic that if the forecast holds, we’re going to be able to run Saturday and Sunday.’
