The Ducks jumped on the Buffalo Sabres for four goals in the first 10 1/2 minutes Tuesday, setting multiple club records with the fastest start to a game in club history.

Their 4-0 lead after one period looked a little different one minute into the second: Buffalo scored two goals in the first 51 seconds to trim the lead to 4-2.

Less than 6 1/2 minutes into the period, the lead was down to 4-3 after Buffalo’s Steve Montador scored after a Ducks turnover.

The Ducks’ outburst started when Ryan Getzlaf scored only 50 seconds into the game, followed by Evgeny Artyukhin at the 1:53 mark, Mike Brown at 5:23 and Bobby Ryan at 10:26. They were the fastest two, three and four goals from the start of a game in club history.

The Ducks are trying to continue their best run of the season despite injuries to standouts Teemu Selanne, Saku Koivu and Joffrey Lupul that seemed likely to derail them. They had won six of their previous seven games before Tuesday, and seven in a row at home.
