In the AFC, Miami (7-9), which won the AFC East in 2008, was eliminated when Houston beat New England. Houston’s win hurt the Pittsburgh Steelers’ chances. To make the postseason, Pittsburgh (9-7) needs losses or ties by the Ravens, Broncos and Jets in late games today.

Houston (9-7) is primarily competing with Denver, Baltimore and the New York Jets for a wild-card spot. The Texans need two of those teams to lose to make the first postseason appearance in the eight-year history of the franchise.

Meanwhile, in the NFC, the Saints will be seeded No. 1 in the playoffs, and Minnesota can get the No. 2 seed if Dallas defeats Philadelphia later today.
