The Lakers may have gotten a big break before they were scheduled to play the Cavaliers tonight at Quicken Loans Arena when Cleveland announced that guard Mo Williams won’t play because of a sprained left shoulder suffered Tuesday night against the Toronto Raptors.

Williams presented the Lakers with big problems during the Christmas Day game at Staples Center that Cleveland won.

Williams led the Cavaliers in scoring with 28 points. He was eight-for-13 from the field, including going three-for-three from three-point range. His speed and quickness were tough for the Lakers to handle.

Williams is an All-Star who averages 16.9 points per game.

Delonte West will start in his place.
