As expected, the Kings activated defenseman Randy Jones from the injured reserve list so he can play tonightagainst the St. Louis Blues at Staples Center. To make room for him, they assigned defenseman Alec Martinez to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.

Jones missed eight games because of an upper-body injury. Martinez played only one game after being summoned from Manchester last week, getting 15 minutes 4 seconds’ ice time against Detroit on Thursday.
