New England linebacker Junior Seau will retire

Junior New England Patriots linebacker Junior Seau will announce his retirement later today on Showtime's Inside the NFL.

Following the Patriots' 33-14 loss to Baltimore on Sunday, Seau told Cris Collinsworth that he had played in his "last game."

The former USC star spent most of his 20-year NFL career with the San Diego Chargers. He played for the Miami Dolphins for three seasons before announcing his retirement in 2006. However, the future hall of famer came back four days later and signed with the Patriots.

Seau, who played in the Super Bowl twice but never was part of a winning team, was a 12-time Pro Bowl selection and was selected to the NFL 1990s all-decade team.
