Josh Grant, the surprise winner of last year’s AMA Supercross season opener in Anaheim, might not be able to start tonight’s race at Angel Stadium.

Grant crashed at a private track near his home in Riverside and injured his head and left shoulder. He said on his website that he broke his nose. He was able to turn some practice laps at the temporary course at Angel Stadium on Thursday with a handful of other riders, but he will be evaluated by his doctors before tonight’s race.
