Angels’ Gary Matthews Jr. heading to Mets in trade

The Associated Press is reporting the New York Mets have agreed to trade for Angels outfielder Gary Matthews Jr. The Angels would receive pitcher Brian Stokes as part of the deal.

The trade is expected to be formally announced today.
