Danica Patrick will join an exclusive sorority when she makes her first NASCAR start, perhaps at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana in February. Only 12 women have made starts in what is now the Nationwide Series. Patrick will be racing for Dale Earnhardt Jr.‘s Nationwide Series team in 2010.

Of those 12 women, only four ever finished in the top 10 of a race. Patty Moise had the most with four top 10s from 1986 to 1998.

Diane Teel had two top 10s in 11 starts from 1982 to 1986. Shawna Robinson and Tina Gordon, no relation to Jeff or Robby, each had one top 10.
