USC offensive tackle Charles Brown was selected as a first-team All-American by the Sporting News and was announced as the winner of the Pacific 10 Conference’s Morris Trophy.
Brown, a 6-foot-5, 285-pound fifth-year senior, has been a two-year starter for the Trojans, who on Wednesday resume preparations for the Dec. 26 Emerald Bowl game against Boston College.
Brown is the second USC player to earn All-America recognition this season. Safety Taylor Mays was selected to the Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America team last week. Mays made the Sporting News’ second-team.
The Morris Trophy is presented to the top offensive and defensive linemen in the Pac-10. Defensive linemen vote for the offensive winner, and offensive linemen vote for the defensive winner.
