UCLA quarterback Kevin Prince moved a step closer to starting against Temple in the EagleBank Bowl a week from today as team trainers signed off on his return. Prince, who injured his right shoulder against USC in the regular-season finale, said that he was ready Monday. Trainers agreed with that on Tuesday after he went through treatment and tests. Prince has thrown for 1,829 yards this season, but 1,251 yards have come in the last five games. He needs four touchdown passes to become the first UCLA quarterback to reach double figures since Patrick Cowan threw for 11 in 2006.

Coach Rick Neuheisel is expected to make a decision on who will start at quarterback before the Bruins leave for Washington, D.C. Prince is expected to get the nod.
