UCLA freshman Reeves Nelson, expected to start at center in place of the departed Drew Gordon, missed his second consecutive practice today with a hyperextended right knee.

Nelson suffered the injury on Tuesday and -- though an MRI exam came back negative -- is not expected back on the court until Friday, a team spokesman said.

The Bruins got better news with the return of another freshman, Tyler Honeycutt, who has been out since early last month with a stress reaction in his right tibia. Honeycutt is expected to increase his practice time each day and be available for UCLA’s game against No. 1 Kansas at Pauley Pavilion on Sunday.
