PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem says Tiger Woods’ indefinite leave doesn’t spell “gloom and doom” for golf.

Finchem said today that although television ratings won’t be as strong without Woods, the tour will have a prosperous season in 2010 no matter how long Woods sits out. He pointed out that Woods only plays 16 tournaments a year during normal years and that the other tournaments have survived.

Finchem says the six tournaments that have raised the most money for charity did not have Woods in the field for the last several years.
