It’s been nearly a decade since the Florida Panthers last made the postseason (it will be 10 years in April), so you can’t blame play-by-play radio announcer Randy Moller for getting a little creative.

Moller, who was best known during his playing days as the guy on the cover of NHLPA ’93, has been gaining a cult following in South Florida and the hockey community thanks to inserting pop culture references into his goal calls. Fans calling into ‘The Dan Le Batard Show’ in Miami have been providing Moller with the material he uses when the Panthers score a goal.

Check it out.

I’m glad Bob Miller and Nick Nickson haven’t had to resort to something like this.
