John Lackey could be close to a deal with Boston
It appears former Angels pitcher John Lackey could be heading to Boston.
According to multiple sources, Lackey is close to signing a deal with the Boston Red Sox after taking a physical in Boston this morning. Details are still coming out, but FanHouse.com and Fox Sports are saying it's close to a done deal.
Lackey, 31, is considered one of the top free-agent pitchers available. He's gone 102-71 over his career, with a 3.81 ERA.
