The Ducks’ Joffrey Lupul will undergo surgery Thursday to repair a herniated disc in his back and will be out at least six to eight weeks.

The loss of Lupul, who has 10 goals and 14 points, is only the latest blow to a team (12-13-7) already without left wing Teemu Selanne (broken hand) and center Ryan Carter (fractured foot).

The surgery will be performed by Dr. Robert Watkins at Marina del Rey Hospital.
