Kobe Bryant leads everybody in All-Star voting; Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol getting attention

Lakers guard Kobe Bryant leads all players in All-Star voting, the NBA announced today in its first balloting update.

Bryant has 692,518 votes and is a virtual lock to play in his 12th All-Star Game.

Lakers center Andrew Bynum (299,484 votes) is second among Western Conference centers, trailing Phoenix’s Amare Stoudemire by about 148,000 votes.

Lakers forward Pau Gasol (280,758 votes) is third among West forwards, trailing Denver’s Carmelo Anthony (588,958) and Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki (366,300).

The All-Star Game is Feb. 14 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Voting ends Jan. 18.
