Torii Hunter said he hasn't been able to reach Chone Figgins for a few days. That could be because Figgins reportedly is on the verge of leaving the Angels and signing with the Seattle Mariners.
"Hopefully, Figgy comes back," Hunter said. "If not, no hard feelings. If it doesn't work out, I understand. Sometimes, you've got to take care of business."
Fox Sports first reported that Figgins and the Mariners were close to a deal, for four years and about $36 million. SI.com later reported that the Angels had offered three years at $24 million.
The Mariners have made no announcement. Messages left for Figgins, his agent and the Angels have not been returned.
