Tiger Woods cancels meeting again, says rumors circulating are 'malicious'

For the third straight day, Tiger Woods canceled a meeting with Florida state troopers to discuss his car accident.

Fabforum Sgt. Kim Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol said Woods’ lawyer did not reschedule the meeting.

In a statement posted today on his website about an hour before he was to meet with troopers, Woods said his wife, Elin Nordegren, acted “courageously” when she saw that he was hurt. He says any other assertion is “absolutely false.” Woods also said the car crash that sent him to the hospital was his fault and had become embarrassing to him and his family.

Woods says he understands there is curiosity about the accident but that the “malicious” rumors circulating about him and his family were irresponsible.
