Sammy Sosa pictures
The biggest news from last week's Latin Grammy Awards wasn't the fact that urban duo Calle 13 won five awards. The biggest news were those photos of a celebrity fan, prompting gasps of "What happened to Sammy Sosa?" as they made their way around the Internet.
In these photos, Sosa's skin appears several shades lighter than usual, leading to all sorts of Internet speculation.
"He's not trying to be Michael Jackson," former Chicago Cubs employee Rebecca Polihronis, who talks frequently with Sosa, told the Chicago Tribune.
"He is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin. Women have it all of the time. He was surprised he came out looking so white. I thought it was a body double. Part of [the photo appearance] is just the lighting." Polihronis said Sosa told her the photos are deceiving.

Sosa is manifestation of a lot of black men -- they want to be white. Some feel now that marrying a white woman is not enough to be accepted as equal to whites, in their (the black men's) eyes. Hopefully, Sosa is not setting a precendent for black men who want to be white to start lightening their skins.

He appears several shades lighter than before, and doesn't even look like the same person. Is it possible that it isn't really Sammy, but an imposter pretending to be him?

Sosa is NOT a manifestation of black men. That is a ridiculous statement. One does not stand for all when dealing with race.

Manifestation???? are you crazy who in the heck in the african race needs to think that lightening their skin is the answer to fitting in clearly needs therapy or an overhaul on life. Changing who you are doesnt teach you to be necessarily what you need to be, when there was nothing wrong with you to begin with. Dressing more adult and sophisticated is one thing but lightening your skin is another. I am truly dissappointed in Sammy Sosa and saddened of the message he is leaving for our youth who look up to him.
