Money makes the world go ‘round ... and for an interesting debate over Forbes’ franchise valuations

Every year, Forbes evaluates the health of the NHL and each of its franchises, coming up with a valuation of all 30 clubs.

And every year, those clubs dispute the values Forbes comes up with.

Here’s the annual report on the league, with links to each club’s value. It’s actually rosier than you’d expect, given the tenuous state of the Phoenix Coyotes, Atlanta Thrashers, Tampa Bay Lightning and others.

The Kings were valued at $208 million, ranking 13th, down from last season’s 12th-ranked value of $210 million. The Ducks were valued at $206 million to rank 14th, up from last season’s $202 million and No. 16 rank.
