Arizona State is 0 for Pete Carroll

November 7, 2009 | 10:49 pm

With its 14-9 loss to USC, Arizona State fell to 4-5 overall and still has not defeated a Pete Carroll-coached USC team.

What might have been?

The Sun Devils lost at Georgia this year on a late field goal, lost last week on a last-second field goal to California, and lost Saturday by five points.

"Close doesn't count anymore," Arizona State Coach Dennis Erickson said. "We had a chance to win the football game."
